Man appears in court charged with murder of Chris Marriott in Sheffield

A man is set to appear in court this morning charged with the murder of dad-of-two Chris Marriott in Sheffield. Hassan Jhangur, 23, will appear at Sheffield Crown Court after Mr Marriott stepped in to help a stranger and was hit by a car on December 27.

He had been walking with his wife and two young sons in College Close, Burngreave, at the time. A car collided with a group of people following reports of 'violence and disorder' in the area, according to South Yorkshire Police.
