A man and a teenage boy were taken to hospital after being spotted on the tracks at Hairmyres railway station.British Transport Police were alerted to two separate incidents within half an hour of each other at the line on Friday night.The alarm was raised following concerns for the welfare of a vulnerable man who was seen on the tracks at 9.25pm.
He was traced by officers and taken to Hairmyres Hospital.Cops were called to the line 25 minutes later, at around 9.50pm, after a report of a person trespassing.A 17-year-old was taken to hospital and later charged in connection with the incident.
