A man accused of shooting a Tesco delivery driver has claimed the gun went off accidentally when he used it to 'hit the victim over the head'.
Errol James, 51, and Romello Briggs-Leon, 25, are both accused of the murder of Eraj Seifi in the head on January 29. Mr Seifi, an Iranian-national, initially survived the attack outside a hostel in Queen's Park, north west London, but died a week later.
At the time of the killing police discovered eight packs of class A drugs hidden by the spare wheel of his car. The Old Bailey heard James shot Mr Seifi, 46, while trying to steal the drugs at gunpoint.
