Police investigating the sexual assault of a 41-year-old woman in Paisley have arrested a suspect in connection with the incident.
A probe was launched after the victim was allegedly targeted at around 1.30am in the Forbes Place area of the town centre on Sunday, July 31.
Officers previously appealed for help from the public to identify the man believed to be responsible for leaving the woman ‘shaken’.
She is being supported by specialist officers. A 31-year-old man has now been charged and is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 2.A statement from Police Scotland said: “The 31-year-old man arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in Paisley has been charged.“The incident happened around 1.30am on Sunday, 31 July, 2022, in the Forbes Place area of the town centre.“The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was left shaken as a result of the incident and is currently being provided support by specialist officers.“The man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 2 August, 2022.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
