Thug leaves man seriously injured after unprovoked attack in Paisley

A 50-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an unprovoked attack on a footbridge in Paisley. The man was walking over a footbridge between Abercorn Street and Carlile Place, around 6pm on Friday, August 19, when he was viscously attacked.

He managed to run from the area following the unprovoked assault and was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The suspect is described as being a white man, in his early-to-mid 20s, 6ft tall and of slim build.He had blonde hair and was wearing a dark hooded jumper.Police are appealing for information and encouraging anyone who saw anything suspicious to get in touch.Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton said: “This was an entirely unprovoked attack and we can only be thankful that the victim managed to get away and alert emergency services before things became even more serious.“We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious, or has any information, to please come forward.“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 3251 of 19 August.
