Man arrested in Canary Islands over drugs and serious organised crime offences in Scotland

A man has been arrested in the Canary Islands following a major organised crime investigation. The 41-year-old was arrested on Friday August 19 on an international arrest warrant drugs and serious organised crime offences committed in Scotland., Police Scotland have confirmed.

It means he will now be subject to extradition procedures.It has involved a joint operation between Police Scotland, the National Crime Agency and the Spanish police.A Statement by Greater Glasgow Police Division said: "Earlier today a 41-year-old man was arrested in the Canary Islands in connection with drugs and serious organised crime offences committed in Scotland. "It followed an operation by our Fugitive Active Search Team, National Crime Agency and Spanish National Police officers. "He was arrested on an international arrest warrant and will now be subject to extradition procedures."
