Third man appears in court over death of Grangemouth OAP after body found in own home

A third man has appeared in court in connection with the death of Grangemouth dad Allan West. The 67-year-old’s body was found inside his home on the town’s Bowhouse Road at around 6.40pm on Monday, August 22.

His death was initially treated as ‘unexplained’ by officers before a major murder investigation was launched. Two men, aged 41 and 49, have previously appeared in court charged with killing and stealing from the pensioner.

Police Scotland announced that a third suspect had been arrested and charged on Sunday. Thomas Hamilton, 32, has now appeared in private at Falkirk Sheriff Court.

He faces a single charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice. He made no plea and was released on bail. The case was submitted for further examination by prosecutors with Hamilton due to reappear at a later date.Allan’s heartbroken family released a statement through Police Scotland last week.
