Shetland actor Douglas Henshall has sparked fury online after claiming the Queen's body is not in her coffin. The Scots star received backlash on social media after his "shocking" claims as he asked if mourners would still be queuing "if people knew that the Queen isn’t in that coffin".

Furious Twitter users users asked the 56-year-old to "stop spreading lies and conspiracy theories" but Douglas insisted it was a "genuine question" and he was "interested" as he responded. Read more here. A 41 year-old man has been arrested and charged after a flat was allegedly torched in Ayrshire.

The alleged early-hours attempted murder bid took place on Russell Drive in Ayr at around 4.30am on Saturday, September 10. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, raced to the scene of the top-floor flat blaze, where two women were stuck inside.
