A young man took his own life after streaming a Facebook Live video from a bridge and telling viewers he was going to jump off, an inquest heard.
Alex Johnson's body was found two weeks after he plunged from a bridge in Newcastle in the early hours of April 16, 2019. After his body was recovered from the River Tyne on May 1, the 24-year-old had ketamine and alcohol in his system, along with traces of three prescribed drugs for depression and anxiety, the inquest heard.
Mr Johnson, of Chester-le-Street, County Durham, was just six-years-old when his 38-year-old dad Steven died of a rare form of cancer, and he had struggled to come to terms with that loss as he grew older, ChronicleLive reports.
