Man, 19, injured in stabbing as police investigation launched

A 19-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in the street in south Manchester, police have said. Police and paramedics were called to Wilmslow Road in Withington, Manchester, after a reported stabbing at around 6.20pm on Sunday evening.

Greater Manchester Police said the teenager, who hasn't been named, suffered injuries 'not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing'.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing. Police said they 'do not believe there is a threat to the wider community', although patrols have been stepped up in the run-up to Christmas across the area.

In a statement, GMP said: "At 6.20pm on Sunday, we were called to Wilmslow Road in Withington to reports that a man had been stabbed.
