United fell to a dismal 4-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City simply dominated them during the second half. Having gone into the break 2-1 down following Kevin De Bruyne’s double either side of Jadon Sancho’s fine goal, a Riyad Mahrez brace then secured what was a comfortable victory for the hosts.
In truth, it could have been much worse for the visitors. While they had given a good account of themselves during the opening 45 minutes, they didn’t lay a glove on their neighbours in the second half.
