A stretch of the M6 was closed in both directions as police deal with an incident. Lancashire Police said both the northbound and southbound carriageways at junction 33 were shut as they dealt with a 'concern for welfare'.
The latest incident this afternoon (August 31) meant the motorway was closed in both directions near Lancaster. We are looking to clear the backlog of vehicles as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience." Also posting on X, National Highways North West wrote: "Traffic has been held on the #M6 in both directions between J34 #Lancaster and J33 #Lancaster in #Lancashire for a @LancsPolice led incident.
