Jessica Rost, a 55 year old artist and mother-of-two, has swapped her family home for a nomadic lifestyle, living in a handmade tent in the British countryside.
She first embraced this way of life back in 2019 when she moved into a converted Ford Transit van. While her two children, aged 25 and 27, lived "on and off" at their two-bed family home in Milton Keynes between university and starting work, Jessica kept the house.
However, in 2021, she began creating bender tents dome-shaped shelters made from woven branches or metal as part of her artistic work, before deciding to make one for herself to live in.
She moved into her first bender tent in Blackburn in 2021, and since 2022, she's been residing in a seven-metre by five-metre tent in the Cheshire countryside.
