Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after five people were killed in a horrific crash on the M6. Emergency crews were called to the scene of the two-car smash on northbound stretch of the motorway past Tebay Services at around 4.04pm yesterday (Tuesday, October 15).
Cumbria Police said five people tragically died on the scene. These were a man, the driver of a Toyota, a woman and two children in the same car - all from Glasgow.

As the incident unfolded yesterday, the motorway was fully closed off as emergency crews responded. Cumbria Police said yesterday: "Police are currently responding to a serious collision on the M6.
