A man has died after two trains collided in a head-on crash in Wales. The low-speed crash happened on a line near Llanbrynmair in Powys just before 7pm on Monday (October 21).
Network Rail and Transport for Wales said the incident involved the Transport for Wales 6.31pm service from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth and the Transport for Wales 7.09pm service from Machynlleth to Shrewsbury.
Tragically, one man died. Another 15 people were rushed to hospital, though police said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Specialist teams remain on the scene investigating the collision. BTP Superintendent Andrew Morgan said: "We can sadly confirm a man has died following this evening’s incident.
