Cynthia Littleton Business Editor FX’s “The Bear” served up more than 1.2 billion minutes watched during its first full week in release on Hulu while Eddie Murphy’s return to form in Netflix’s “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” grabbed a big crowd in its first 48 hours of release, according to Luminate‘s streaming originals ratings for the week of June 28-July 4.
Other strong performers for the seven-day frame that ended with the Independence Day holiday included Netflix original film “Family Affair,” Amazon Prime Video’s documentary “I Am: Celine Dion” and Tubi slasher pic “Bloodline Killer.” Among streaming original series, Netflix’s “Worst Roommate Ever” got Season 2 off to a strong start and its British sci-fi import “Supacell” impressed in its first week. "The Bear" topped the TV series chart with 1.2 billion minutes watched, up 829% from the previous week when it only had one day in release. "Worst Roommate Ever," Netflix's offbeat horror docuseries, rose 441% from the previous week to land at No.
2 with 638 million minutes watched in its first full week in release. "Supacell," however, was the big mover in the series top 10.
It soared 3,700% to land at No. 3 for the week with 605.6 million minutes watched, in its first full week release after bowing June 27.
