Rangers have reportedly made an approach to Botafogo boss Luis Castro as they assess their options away from frontrunner Michael Beale.
QPR are bracing themselves for an official approach from Rangers seeking permission to speak to their manager and Les Ferdinand, director of football at the English championship side, has already confessed to Record Sport he will not stand in Beale's way if he wants to quit he quit just a year ago when he followed Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa.
However, the Ibrox board are not only narrowing their search to just one option and are weighing up alternative candidates to replace Gio van Bronckhorst.
Goal Brazil state that Castro has been contract by the Scottish Premiership side, and will be an option should Beale not step into the Ibrox hot seat.
