Lufthansa flight makes 'emergency landing' at Manchester Airport

A passenger jet heading towards the US was diverted to Manchester Airport and made an emergency landing today after a reported medical emergency on board.

Lufthansa flight DLH44 - from Frankfurt in Germany to Atlanta in America - is understood to have diverted over the coastline of Scotland.

understands a passenger complained of chest pains, prompting the captain to divert the flight. It was met by emergency services including firefighters on the runway as per policy, but the airport said no intervention by firefighters was required.
