Child serial killer Lucy Letby will spend the rest of her life behind bars after being handed a whole-life order for her horrific crimes. The sentence, which has only been given to three other women in Britain, means the 33-year-old will never be released and will die in prison. It has been reported that Letby will be sent to maximum security prison HMP Low Newton which houses serial killer Joanna Dennehy and a number of other dangerous criminals. As reported in the Mirror, Letby is expected to remain at the maximum-security prison for at least 20 years but it is believed she could be transferred to a lower security jail after this.Experts believe she will be given 'restricted status' - the female equivalent of Category A inmate - meaning she is deemed to pose the highest-risk threat to the public.Mark Leech, a prisons expert and editor of The Prison Oracle website, told the Telegraph: "She'll be on suicide watch and it will be some time before she gets to mingle with the main prison population - at least six months."Letby will reportedly undergo assessments for her mental and physical health in the hospital wing before she is eventually moved to her own cell.

This initial separation from the rest of the prison population will also help protect her from other inmates.Professor Yvonne Jewkes, professor of criminology at the University of Bath, told the Telegraph: "At best, she'll be subjected to extreme bullying and intimidation.

At worst, she might be in quite considerable physical danger. [...]She'll associate mostly with prison officers, her key worker in the prison, and one or two cleaners, but much of that interaction will be through the hatch in her cell door."While Letby will be allowed to walk outside in the prison
