The Pretty Little Liars star marked Valentine's Day with a "self-love" post in which she revealed she has privately been sober since 2 January 2022. This is a post about self-love and about the greatest thing I’ve ever done. On January 2, 2023 I celebrated one year of sobriety," she wrote beside a photo of a cake commemorating her milestone.
She continued, "While this journey has mostly been private, I felt compelled tonight to let anyone who is struggling know that you are not alone and you are loved. " Lucy received supportive messages in the comments from her former Pretty Little Liars co-stars including Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse, Janel Parrish, Tyler Blackburn, and Troian Bellisario.
