Lucy Beaumont has issued a huge career update following her split from husband Jon Richardson.The pair, who share eight year old daughter Elsie, surprised fans earlier this year when they announced that their marriage had come to an end after nine years.
Six months on from the split, 41-year-old comedian has landed a huge role on primetime TV and it has been revealed that she will be hosting the BBC New Comedy Awards 2024 final.
Having helped launch the career of comedians including Peter Kay, Joe Lycett and Alan Carr, the award show will celebrate some of the hottest new names in UK comedy. “I'm so excited to be hosting the BBC New Comedy Awards 2024,” Lucy said. “I remember how exciting it is to start out in a comedy career, and I'm honoured to share the stage with such incredible new talent as they begin what is sure to be long careers in the industry.” For anyone wanting to get a glimpse of the emerging comedy acts, the BBC New Comedy Awards Final will air on BBC One on Wednesday, 13 November at 10.30pm.
