LOVE Island bosses are “working to the wire” to finish building the villa, just three days before the Islanders move in. Whole sections of the ITV2 love shack remain in disarray, with furniture, walls and floors unfinished while work on the show’s sexy retreat, The Hideaway, has only just begun.

But executive producer Mike Spencer said: “It just takes time, getting it right.” ITV acquired the villa in January and have had teams on site since March - including local builders as well as the channel’s own crew.
