Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

TV presenter Lorraine has defended Prince Harry for holding hands with wife Meghan Markle as the pair left Westminster Hall on Wednesday (September 14).The ITV host was commenting on how, while other members of the Royal Family looked stoic in their grief, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex grasped hands in support of one another and praised the Duchess of Sussex for “supporting” her husband during a discussion with Jennie Bond.

Lorraine said of Harry, whose birthday it is today: “He did look absolutely shattered the poor wee soul." She continued: "And on the way out [of the service] quite instinctively he held hands with his wife as he should," adding,"I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
