Long Covid leaves Scots runner struggling to walk and unable to work

Covid has left her struggling to walk. Massage therapist Jennifer Syme first became ill in March last year, suffering from common symptoms of extreme tiredness, fever, breathlessness and a loss of sense of smell and taste.

But the 51-year-old, from Dunfermline, has been left so debilitated that she’s had to give up her job and simple hobbies such as walking her dog.

Jennifer has spoken out after Long Covid campaigners highlighted a lack of support for sufferers in the Sunday Mail. She said: “Generally, I just felt weird, like nothing I’ve had before.

I’d had full-on flu in the past and it wasn’t like that."Just a weird, surreal sort of feeling, like an alien was inside and I wasn’t quite in control of my body."Symptoms changed by the day,.
