Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.An emergency helipad for a hard-to-reach peninsula is being built thanks to the persistence of an ambulance service staffer from Neilston.For years Stuart McLellan watched ambulances struggle to reach the medical emergency helicopter as it landed in a muddy field in Campbeltown.His dogged peristence has now paid-off as a £270,000 landing pad is set to be built.And Stuart,26, will be guest of honour at an opening ceremony planned for March.Helicopters will be able to take off and land on solid ground, and ambulances will be able to drive up to the helipad without fear of getting bogged down.Stuart, above, admitted: “It’s been a two-year battle to get
