Liverpool have been warned about the financial ramifications of missing out on the Champions League. The Reds find themselves in sixth following a poor run of form that has cast doubt over their top four spot.

Jurgen Klopp has delivered Champions League football in each of his full seasons at Anfield. The defence of their Premier League crown has not gone as hoped though with injuries to key men hampering their ambitions.

Paul Merson believes they need to add new faces claiming they've "become a lot less of a team" without their stars. But failure to finish in the top four would have a rippling affect throughout the club. "I can't explain how big it would be if Liverpool ended up not getting in the top four, it's massive.
