Liverpool are unlikely to splash the cash this summer, but could be offered the chance to sign a former club hero for free.Barcelona are reportedly eager to send Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield in order to recoup some funds and cancel out some of their debt.Barca are said to still owe a fee in the region of £50million to Liverpool stemming from their 2018 acquisition of the creative midfielder.Reports suggest they view sending him back to Liverpool as an adequate way of striking off that debt and helping to ease their catastrophic financial situation.
However, with the Reds set for a big summer ahead of an attempt to recapture their Premier League title, they need to stay well away from Coutinho.Liverpool have lost.
