Liverpool's Alisson hailed as "animal" behind Reds' world champions success

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has been labelled an "animal" for his role in The Reds' Club World Cup success in December. The Brazilian stopper was in inspired form during the the competition, particularly in the 2-1 semi-final victory over Monterrey.

After seeing off the Mexican outfit, Alisson then kept a clean sheet in the final against Flamengo as Roberto Firmino's extra-time goal ensured Liverpool won the competition for the first time in their history.

And one of their opponents in the last four, Nicolas Sanchez, believes Liverpool would not be toasting their trophy success had it not been for the work of their no.1. "For me, we didn’t score the second goal because of the animal in their goal,” the Monterrey defender told TNT Sports.
