Liverpool have paid tribute to their former manager Gerard Houllier after he passed away at the age of 73. Houllier guided the Reds to the treble of FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup in 2001, beating Alaves 5-4 in the latter final cap off a remarkable season, and he is remembered as one of the most successful bosses in the club's illustrious history.
The Frenchman had joined the Reds initially as a joint-manager alongside Roy Evans in the summer of 1998, but when that partnership was swiftly ended he took over the reins on a permanent basis.
