The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings played in a highly-anticipated match-up last night to determine the number 1 seed in the NFL playoffs.

If you’re not an NFL fan, the number 1 seed is the team with the best record in each of the two divisions: AFC and NFC. The Chiefs have the number 1 seed for the AFC, while the Lions and Vikings both had the chance for the number 1 seed for the NFC.

The best part about getting the number 1 seed is that the teams get a week off to rest while Wild Card playoffs take place. The wild card winners then advance to play the number 1 seeded teams (or another winning wild card team).

Last night’s game saw the Lions beating the Vikings and earning the number 1 seed and a week off. The Vikings are still in the playoffs, but are now playing on Monday (January 13) in a playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.
