Line of Duty fans breathed a sigh of relief on Sunday evening as the latest episode revealed that DI Kate Fleming was still very much alive.

Episode five of the BBC crime drama ended on an epic cliffhanger as Kate ( Vicky McClure ) found herself in a tense situation alongside PC Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper).

Kate had been lured to a lorry park by her boss, DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald), under the pretence that they were going to discuss some personal issues.

However, Jo was actually preparing for Ryan to kill Kate after her mystery boss advised her to "get rid of her". As Ryan pulled his gun on Kate, she was able to brandish hers too and shouted at Ryan to drop his as Jo looked on in a panic.
