The late Liam Payne‘s girlfriend Kate Cassidy is finally ready to open up more on his tragic death while continuing to mourn the One Direction singer’s untimely passing.
Of course, Kate had been in Argentina with Liam last October before traveling back home to the United States. Not long after she departed from Buenos Aires, the 31-year-old boy band singer fell to his death from a hotel balcony in the South American city.
In the weeks following his passing, she released a statement and eventually revealed he was dreaming of proposing. And now, Kate is fully opening up about the tragedy in her first interview on the matter. During the interview, Kate called her time with Liam a “fairytale romance” and noted that he’d supported her “through thick and thin.” She also said she was “not to blame” for his death in the “tragic accident.” Revealing that she went back home alone to care for the couple’s rescue dog Nala, she insisted that had she known what would happen, she never would have gotten on that flight: Kate used the interview to debunk internet conspiracy theories about why she left Argentina.
