Liam Gallagher was one of the big music winners at the MTV EMAs held for the first time in Manchester at the weekend. And fans had been hoping that they would see the Oasis icon back on home turf on stage at the glittering ceremony which was broadcast live to a TV audience of millions.
But Liam did not attend the awards at Co-op Live on Sunday night. During the ceremony he was announced as the winner of the Best Rock category, beating off competition from Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Greenday, Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz and The Killers, but was not there to accept the MTV gong.
Now, Liam has confirmed he HAD been due to attend the EMAs event in Manchester, but was left "gutted" that an injury prevented him from doing so. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Liam wrote: "Thanks to everyone who voted for us last night much appreciated you are the best i love and adore you LG x." He didn't initially explain the reason for not attending the awards.
