He was 63. Among the vanguard at the intersection of the entertainment and tech businesses, Rothman had most recently served at Strategy PR/Consulting, the bicoastal entertainment PR agency specializing in awards campaigns for film studios and television & streaming companies.
Over his seven years there, he was instrumental in the company’s growth. Previous to that, Rothman took a position at newly-formed The Weinstein Company in 2006, serving as the movie studio’s Chief Technology Officer for ten-plus years.
Always ahead of the curve, in the early ’90s Rothman and his wife Serina Mayer started a new media consultancy, Vibemaster, Inc., which served as a strategic development liaison between entertainment and technology companies, crafting multiplatform marketing opportunities that introduced new ways to incorporate the burgeoning new media wave.
