There was no show-stopping encore to Lewis Hamilton's record-breaking season as he limped home to third in Abu Dhabi. The seven-time world champion was back in his championship-winning Mercedes after missing the Sakhir Grand Prix with coronavirus.

But Hamilton, 35, was seemingly still feeling the effects of Covid-19 and endured a frustrating and lonely evening under the lights of the Yas Marina Circuit.

It was an uncharacteristic off day for his usually-dominant Mercedes team too as Max Verstappen brought the curtain down on the delayed 2020 season with a stunning victory for Red Bull.
