BAY City Rollers frontman Les McKeown has died at 65, the band announced today. He died suddenly at home on April 20, with the band paying tribute to him and telling of their "profound sadness".
They wrote in a statement: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband and father Leslie Richard McKeown. "Leslie died suddenly at home on Tuesday April 20, 2021. "We are currently making arrangements for his funeral." Les was the lead singer of the band during their most successful period.
He joined the group in late 1973 before leaving in 1978. It is not known how the beloved Scot died but he passed away suddenly at home.
