The Bay City Rollers were one of the biggest pop bands of the mid 70s and had a number of years in which they were mobbed by screaming fans wherever they went.
During their golden years from 1973 to 1978, they played to a sea of tartan scarves being held aloft by obsessed fans who packed into their gigs in their thousands.
Starting in 1966, it took Glam Rock to bring out a style and sound for the Rollers that became a pop masterclass when they hit the top of the charts in 1975 with Bye Bye Baby and follow-up, Give a Little Love.
Of course, when you are at the top, there is often only one to go and that is down and by the end of the decade, the Bay City Rollers had seen singer Les McKeown depart and their fortunes on the slide.
