“Dexter” revival. Harris, 51, was spotted filming “Dexter: Resurrection” with Michael C. Hall, 54, in New York City on Wednesday.

The “How I Met Your Mother” alum will play a character named Lowell. Details about his role are under wraps, but he was wearing a brown wig that looked similar to Hall’s hair, so he could be a long-lost relative.

While a serial-killer show is a departure for Harris, who is best known for comedy roles, he’s not a stranger to bloodier fare, as he played a creepy character in “Gone Girl” who memorably made the movie quite gory.

In a 2018 interview with The Post, Harris said, “I like being able to not be known for just one type of thing. In trying to craft a career of longevity, you want to try and not be the go-to guy for just one specific flavor.”He also admitted, “In my real life I have a pretty dark and acerbic sense of humor … I like the ‘Gone Girl’ mentality where it seems like a romance and then someone gets their throat slit.”Other stars in “Dexter: Resurrection” include Uma Thurman, “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage and “Jessica Jones” star Krysten Ritter.
