Lee Westwood's 66-1 winner Yorkhill ruled out of £40k race ahead of Cheltenham Festival

Lee Westwood's 66-1 winner Yorkhill has been ruled out of this afternoon's feature race at Doncaster. The veteran was taken out of the Sky Bet Chase, a contest with a first prize of £42,713, after he knocked a joint.

His absence leaves 11 horses to go to post at 3.15, as Guitar Pete is also a non-runner due to the going. Yorkhill's trainer Sandy Thomson, who was asked to train him by the former world number one golfer and Dave Armstrong, said he hopes he will be back on the track soon.

The two-time Cheltenham Festival winner has been entered into the Magners Gold Cup on March 19. "Yorkhill has had a lot of issues and I was not happy with him this morning," Thomson said. "I'm not overly concerned by it, I just didn't want to take any risks
