‘Lanterns’: HBO’s DC Studios Series Casts Poorna Jagannathan
variety.comJoe Otterson TV Reporter Poorna Jagannathan has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming HBO series “Lanterns,” Variety has confirmed.
The show is based on DC’s “Green Lantern” comics. Jagannathan joins previously announced series leads Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre in the series, as well as cast members Kelly Macdonald and Garret Dillahunt.
Per the official logline, the show follows “new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.” Jagannathan will play Zoe, who is described as “effortlessly confident and poised in any setting, even those where she stands out.
She is every bit as composed and cunning of the influential men around her.” Jagannathan previously starred in the HBO limited series “The Night Of” in the role of Safar Khan.
