Lanarkshire MSP urges older residents to air views on future provision of health and social care

Neil Gray is urging older people in Lanarkshire to take part in a new government consultation on the health and social care.This is in the hope it will help finalise the National Care Service and ensure Lanarkshire's elderly residents have some of the best care and support in the world.Views are also being sought from clinicians, health professionals and social care staff who provide this care, to help ensure integrated care is available for all older people, whatever their needs and wherever they live.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “It is vital that support and care for older people in Scotland is developed based on the views of those who need it. "Elderly care is quite different from that of children and younger adults and therefore any framework must reflect that. “I would ask all older people in Airdrie and Shotts to fill in the consultation or, if they cannot do so themselves, ask a friend or family member to log their opinions for them.”The consultation is seeking views on a broad range of issues, including:
