Lanarkshire locals enjoy getting out and about to nature reserves

They have previously worked on paths, litter collection, meadow management and many other aspects of the area.Malls Mire was also the first Community Woodland in Glasgow that became a nature reserve, in 2015.Urban Roots is a community led environmental charity working across the Southside of Glasgow.They aim to empower locals to make choices and lifestyle changes that are beneficial for them, their communities and the environment.

A spokesman for the movement told us: "Malls Mire woods has been changed from a neglected site for fly-tipping, into a thriving community run local nature reserve."It boasts an exciting program of conservation work, therapeutic activities and outdoor adventure play for children."One local man told Lanarkshire Live: “The place is thriving with all sorts of animals.
