Lanarkshire great-grandfather who marks centenary swears by a dram-a-night for a long life

A bowl of porridge for breakfast and a "wee dram at night" are the secrets to a long life for a Rutherglen man who marked his centenary last week.Robert Burns Garrow, fondly known as Bobby, was born in Crieff in Perthshire in 1923 and was named after the poet Robert Burns - so it was fitting then that he celebrated the special birthday on Burns night.He now lives in Rutherglen's Lochbrae Court - a sheltered housing complex in the town.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Annie and Bobby moved to Perth together and were married in 1948.The couple had their first daughter, Isabel, in 1949 and they moved to Annie's home town of Rutherglen.Shortly after this, two more daughters came
