Lanarkshire environment award winners celebrate community effort

A green-fingered Lanarkshire community group is celebrating the community effort which helped them strike gold at a national environmental awards ceremony.

Local charity Grow Uddingston won the urban community category at the prestigious Beautiful Scotland Awards, along with a gold-level certificate in recognition of their work in the area.

Judges were particularly impressed by the planting at the “welcoming” gateway to the town; and the volunteers who earned the accolade have thanked local residents and businesses for their support.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
