Two Lanarkshire charities are in the running to win a funding jackpot after being shortlisted in the latest round of Scotmid’s community connect initiative.Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust (LCCT) and Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre are among the three finalists in the retailer’s current members’ vote to distribute a prize fund of £25,000, alongside Dumfries home-start organisation Shax.The organisation receiving the highest number of votes between now and April will receive £15,000 while the other two will receive £5000 – and both local groups would use the windfall to continue and expand their vital services.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
