Celtic are said to want £20million for Kyogo amid reports that Manchester City are planning a shock move for the Japanese ace.The Premier League champions are looking to bolster their attacking options after selling Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid in a blockbuster £82million deal, and reports emerged early on Wednesday that Pep Guardiola has identified Hoops striker Kyogo - who netted against the Citizens in Celtic's 4-3 friendly win in the US last month - as someone who can serve as back-up to Etihad superstar Erling Haaland. The 29-year-old, who was previously linked with a return to the J-League with Urawa Red Diamonds earlier this summer, has netted an impressive 73 goals in 135 matches at Parkhead since his arrival in the summer of 2021.

Kyogo is currently out injured with a shoulder problem picked up in the 2-0 win against Hibernian earlier this month. But it's claimed City see him as an experienced and value-for-money option who could offer an alternative to Haaland with no other senior striker available to Pep Guardiola at present.

According to the Daily Mail, the Parkhead will only entertain offers of £20million for the forward, who still has three years remaining on his contract in Glasgow.

If the Japan international were to move on, then he would leave the Irishman with Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah as the only two recognised forwards in the squad, and Idah the only natural No.9.
