Urawa Red Diamonds are reportedly launching an ambitious bid to bring Celtic striker Kyogo Furushashi back to the J-League.The hitman is a firm fan favourite of the Hoops having enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Celtic Park since being brought to the Scottish Premiership by Ange Postecoglou back in 2021.

He has continued to impress under Brendan Rodgers and played a key part in the domestic double achieved under the Irishman - but the Daily Mail report that a move could be on the cards claiming that "Urawa have placed Furuhashi at the top of their list" as they "look to build a team capable of winning the J-League."It is claimed that the club are willing to break the current J-League transfer record to seal a deal - which currently stands at £10million.

However, Celtic are under no obligation to sell with the 29-year-old striker contracted to the club until 2027.But that appears unlikely to deter Urawa.

It is claimed that they plan to test Celtic's "resolve" with a mega-money offer in the coming weeks. Urawa had signed Ola Solbakken on loan from Roma in January as they threw money around the top flight - but he now looks set to move to Malmo.Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond. You can also follow our dedicated Rangers and Celtic podcast pages and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season.
