Kristin Chenoweth Officially Sets Broadway Return for Fall 2025 in New Musical from 'Wicked' Composer

Kristin Chenoweth is officially returning to Broadway this year! The Tony-winning actress will be teaming up with Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz again to star in his new musical The Queen of Versailles, which will open in Fall 2025 at the St.

James Theatre in New York City. Kristin previously led a record-breaking world premiere production of the musical in summer 2024 at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre. “I’m beyond excited to return to Broadway and also make my Broadway producing debut with this incredible company,” Kristin said in a statement. “Stephen is a once in a generation songwriter and I’m so lucky we are able to reunite for this original musical, under the direction of the iconic Michael Arden to bring Lindsey Ferrentino’s captivating story to life.” Keep reading to find out more… The musical will begin performances on October 8, 2025 ahead of a red carpet celebration on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

The official press opening is set for November 10. Tickets for The Queen of Versailles will go on sale on June 5, 2025 and fans can sign up for early access at https://queenofversaillesmusical.com/.

The Queen of Versailles is based on the true story of Jackie Siegel and her husband David Siegel (F. Murray Abraham), who were the basis of the documentary of the same name.
