Seoul-based sales company Finecut has got off to a busy start at Busan’s Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) closing a trio of deals on webtoon adaptation Brave Citizen, and picking up international rights to inspirational drama Victory.
Brave Citizen, a vigilante action movie, has been sold to Kadokawa Kplus for Japan, Moviecloud for Taiwan and Lumix Media for Vietnam, while inflight rights have gone to Kairos Distribution.
Directed by Park Jin-pyo (You Are My Sunshine), the film follows an aspiring female boxer who works as a teacher but dons a mask to secretly fight a violent student.
The cast is headed by Shin Hae-sun (See You In My 19th Life) and Lee Jun-young (Mask Girl). The film is produced by Korean OTT platform Content Waave and StudioN, a production company owned by Naver Webtoon, and co-produced by VOL Media and Oscar10studio.
