Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Kino Lorber has promoted chief strategy officer Ed Carroll to president of the media company.
Carroll will report directly to Richard Lorber, who is giving up his president title to Carroll, but remains chairman and CEO.
Formerly chief operating officer at AMC Networks and general manager at Bravo, Carroll joined Kino Lorber in 2023. Over his past year with the company, Carroll helped oversee the acquisition of MHz Choice SVOD and the creation of a joint venture with streamer Topic, as well as the launch of streaming offering Kino Film Collection via Amazon’s Prime Video Channels.
MHz Networks founder and president Frederick Thomas, who sold his company to Kino Lorber in September 2022, will transition into a senior adviser role alongside Carroll’s elevation.
